Completed in 1889, the neo-Renaissance Open Gates building is now host to the Open Gates Conference Center. It is located in Galveston, a mile west of the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital which operates the facility. With both large and small conference rooms and a formal dining room, as well as high-quality audiovisual equipment and conference telephones, the center hosts meetings, conferences and receptions of all types and sizes.
